Privacy policy

Hundal Law Chambers Professional Corporation, carrying on business as Hundal Law Chambers (“we”, “us”), respects your privacy. This policy explains what personal information we collect through this website, why, and how we handle it, in keeping with Canada’s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).

Information we collect

We collect the information you give us: your name, phone number, email address, preferred language, the type of matter and any short note you include when you send an inquiry or book a consultation. We also collect limited technical information (such as your IP address and the pages you visit) to keep the site secure and working.

How we use it

We use your information to respond to your inquiry, run a conflict check, arrange a consultation, provide legal services if we are retained, and meet our professional and regulatory obligations. We do not sell personal information.

Where it is stored

When you send an inquiry, the website (hosted by Vercel, in the United States) passes it to Brevo, an email service based in the European Union, which delivers it to the firm’s email account (Google Workspace). These providers may process and store your information outside Canada, where it can be subject to the laws of those countries. We require them to protect it and to use it only to provide their service to us. The website does not keep a copy of your inquiry.

The pathway finder

The pathway finder runs in your browser. Your answers are not stored or sent to us unless you choose to book a consultation and share them.

Confidentiality

Information shared in a lawyer-client relationship is protected by solicitor-client privilege and our professional duty of confidentiality. Sending an inquiry through this website does not, on its own, create a lawyer-client relationship. Please don’t send confidential details until we confirm we can act for you.

Retention and security

We keep personal information only as long as needed for these purposes or as required by law and our professional obligations. Inquiries that do not lead to a retainer are deleted from the firm’s email within 24 months. We use reasonable safeguards to protect personal information, including encrypted connections to this website.

Your choices

You may ask to see or correct the personal information we hold about you, or ask questions about this policy. To do so, call 905-452-0348, or write to us at 1 Nelson Street W, Suite 200B, Brampton, ON L6X 3E4.

Changes

We may update this policy. The current version is always on this page.
