What to bring to your consultation

Bring what you have. You do not need everything, but the more Manny can see, the more useful the consultation will be.

  • Photo ID and your passport, including any expired passports if you have them
  • Your current immigration document, such as a visa, permit, PR card or confirmation of permanent residence
  • Any letters from IRCC, the Immigration and Refugee Board (IRB) or the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA), especially refusal letters, with the envelope or email showing the date you received them
  • Copies of any application you have already submitted, and the confirmation of submission
  • For a sponsorship: proof of the relationship, such as a marriage certificate, photos, and messages, and your recent tax documents
  • For work or study: your job offer, LMIA, letter of acceptance or school documents
  • If there is any criminal charge or record, anywhere: the court documents
  • A short list of the dates you entered and left Canada, if travel history matters to your matter
  • Your questions, written down

If a document is not in English or French, bring the original. Manny will tell you whether you need a certified translation.
